I offer a no risk guarantee, if you are not happy, DO NOT PAY. I have trained lots and lots of dogs and never had anyone take me up on that. Below are just a few short comments from a few clients. For security purposes (to keep the information out of the hands of spammers), I have not included their contact information here. However, if you considering utilizing my services as a dog trainer, upon request I would be glad to provide a dozen or more references with contact information so that you can email or call and verify my abilities as a dog trainer.

Brian,
This is to thank you for your help with training my Cane Corso, Bosco.
Prior to contacting you, Bosco was a pretty normal puppy that had completed basic puppy training without any problems. But when Bosco hit puberty, he quickly turned so aggressive that I was unable to board him, take him to a groomer and worse yet, complete vet appointments. And at 115 pounds, our walks were miserable because he could drag me whenever he wanted to chase squirrels, other dogs or other people.
I contacted you the day our vet told me that he could not treat Bosco because of his aggressive behavior. After asking a ton of questions, you assured me that you could help me which calmed me considerably.
In just one 4-hour session, we were walking Bosco in the park, passing squirrels, kids, adults and other dogs with little incident. Most importantly, you taught me the tools to immediately correct any bad behaviors during our walk as Bosco and I walked for the next several weeks.
You have been a wealth of knowledge on everything from the best collars and leashes for Bosco to the best diet and snacks. All these things have made a great improvement in his behavior. Our subsequent training sessions have allowed me to eliminate additional bad behaviors like excessive barking in the house, greeting guests, jumping on people, etc. We are now working on walking off-leash and Bosco is doing great.
I am grateful for the help you provided and highly recommend you to other dog owners who need to be able to enjoy and control their pets, especially large breed dogs.

While I was looking online for a home for my pit bull, Supreme, I ran across a reference for a dog trainer. I went to The Detroit Dog Trainer link as he had experience with aggressive dogs. I spoke with Brian on the phone; he asked a few questions and told me about some techniques to deal with his aggression.
His techniques worked well, but my dog had some serious aggression issues and after a few months, I felt he needed a professional to spend some time with him. I called Brian again, and we set an appointment. He showed up on time and he spent 15 minutes getting some background on my dog. He assured me that he could resolve Supreme’s issues. I was excited but still a little apprehensive because of my dog’s extreme food aggression problem. He spent over 4 hours working with the dog and taught me how to deal with his problems during the training session.
This made it very easy to remember all he taught me. My dog was significantly calmer and much more behaved after the session. I now have the tools to deal with my dog’s aggression issues and I now have plans to keep Supreme.
Brian’s efforts have saved my dog from being put down, I cannot thank him enough.

Hi Brian,
I would like to let everyone know what an amazing job you’ve done training not only Prince, my pit/boxer mix, but also myself. I adopted Prince in September of last year, and didn’t have much experience with dogs. I knew I needed help.
Since our very first session, approx. 6 months ago, Prince has made such a big improvement. From walking him, as he used to walk me, to social behavior with other dogs.
Your training tips and advice have really made a huge difference in both our lives, I now know how to react in certain situations, and am learning how to "read" Mr. Prince’s next move. I can’t tell you enough how much I’ve appreciated all the help and advice, except to recommend you to other dog owners, which I do any chance I get.
I look forward to our future training sessions together, as does Mr. Prince, (He told me ).

Brian,
You were fabulous today! In one session, you were able to get my dog Willy to enter his crate and stay, to stop nipping and biting and most importantly put him on the right track to help with separation anxiety. Your calmness and kindness was very evident.
I would never have believed it was possible if I had not been present. Thank you so much for all your help.
Please feel free to use my name as a reference in the future.
Thank you again.
Ina K.

Here is a typical situation. I received the following email:
Hello-
We currently have a 1 year old Golden Retriever (male) that we are having ALOT of issues with. He destructively chews ALL of my childrens toys--even though he has TONS of chew toys of his own, he is also food aggressive and counter surfs our counters for food. He eats my kids socks---he PULLS them off their feet and then eats them--and eats our dish rags. He is VERY rough with our 5 year old Golden Retriever (another male)--especially since our 5 year old Golden just had sugery to repair a torn ACL.
I am at my wits end with this dog---we love him dearly, and he is very attached to my 3 year old son and my son calls him his "best friend"---we just want to make it so Quinn can be OUR best friend too!
Any information you can give me about your services would be sincerely appreciated.
Thank You.
Amy
So I got in touch with Amy and we arranged for me to come to her house for a training session. I was able to view all the behaviors she described, as well as a lot of other bad behaviors, such as bolting through any open door or gate, not being able to walk on leash, etc. In short, I saw 2 dogs which were completely out of control. We addressed all concerns, and they regained control of their dogs.
This is the email I got from Amy 2 days later when I inquired how things were going:
Hi Brian,
Things are going WONDERFUL! The food situation has all but resolved itself...they try and inch in, but are VERY receptive when we move toward them to move them back. Playing outside with the kids is SO much nicer...Quinn still steals Aidan's baseballs when he plays...but he stopped running off with them..and will now "leave it" when we get to him. It's heaven! Getting in and out the door is still hard...we're working REALLY hard on that though, so I anticipate it will get better. Also, Quinn has STOPPED chewing up toys...completely...it is AMAZING!
I want to thank you for taking the time to come to our home to help us with our dogs. I never anticipated that I would be the type of pet owner to let my dogs take control of our life...but somehow, it DID happen. The tips and tricks you taught us are PRICELESS. Just the fact that we can eat in peace, and the kids can play with their toys again was worth 10 times the amount you charge--which is a FANTASTIC price, by the way. We really feel alot less stress in our lives, and have learned to appreciate our beloved dogs even more now that WE have the control.
Please know how much we appreciate your experience and guidance during a really stressful period in our lives!
We will DEFINITELY keep in touch--and THANKS AGAIN!
Sincerely,
Amy B.
This is a very typical situation for me and the people I help. Here are some more emails from people I've helped in the past.
Hi Brian, I just wanted to thank you again for the help with Brutus and Butter. Brutus is doing great with walking on his leash. Butter is getting better too. Brutus is not jumping on people nearly as much. He also jumped right in the truck today. No coaxing anything. I opened the door to clean it out and in he went. He got out when told too. He sits when told. When told to release an object they do. They are doing good with being told to Leave It as well. Thank you for all your help and suggestions for future issues. I will definately recommend you to my friends with dogs. Have a great and safe New Year. Jodi |
Hi Brian, Just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate the training and great information that I received from you when you came to the house to help me traim my English Mastiff Riley, and help bring him back under control. As you could see, he is really a great dog but he had taken over me and the house. With the training sessions and advice on how to handle him on a daily basis he is much improved. Before you came, I was debating on what to do with him and if I could even keep him any longer without doing something really drastic. With his enormous size and the aggressive tendencies that he had, not everyone would have worked with him and I can't thank you enough for being that person. I will keep in touch in the future and let you know how we are progressing, Thanks again, Jan D. |
Hi Brian,
Your knowledge and skill in handling the dog was amazing. I would recommend you to family and friends, to anyone who needs a dog trainer.
Thanks a lot for your help,
Kathy N.
