FORUM & FAQ  This part of the website will be a work in progress until I get it exactly as I want it, so check back often.

Eventually, I hope to have a real time discussion board where people can ask questions, post replies, share stories, pictures, discuss any pet related topics, etc.  For now, I am starting with some emails regarding common questions I get from dog owners.
If you would like to ask a question, feel free to contact me via the Contact Us page of this site.

Here is something that might help. Do you ever need split second control over your dog in a situation where the dog loses composure?  Such as when a visitor first enters the house?  This can be used in a variety of situations and is particularly useful during house training (for info on that, click the first link above).  Many people and trainers suggest leaving a leash on a dog, even in the house.  I find this difficult and inconvenient.  Not to mention possibly dangerous or damaging.  The leash can get hooked on things, pulling furniture over or in the worst case scenario, choking the dog to death.

In situations where you need split second control over the dog but don't want a leash constantly on the dog, use a simple loop made of nylon cord, clothesline rope, etc.

(Step 1)

Make a simple loop by tying a knot at the end of a folded length of cord

(Step 2)

Slide the loop under the dog's collar

(Step 3)

Put the knot through the loop, creating a simple cow-hitch

(Step 4)

Draw it snug and now you can quickly get a handle on your dog in any situation!

Easy on, easy off.
